She was predeceased by: her husband Walter J. Burns; her siblings, Mary Kathryn Sievers (Katie), William Hinkle (Wilma), Barry Hinkle and James Hinkle; and her son-in-law Eli Ostoich.
She is survived by: her parents, Arthur Nile Hinkle and Ethel Lucille Miller (Betty); and her children, Ken Burns (Marilyn), Kevin Burns, Karen Ostoich of Carmel, Kay Burns (Keith Kilpatrick), Kyle Burns (Lisa), Keith Burns (Sheila) and Kristopher Burns (Doreen) of Cary. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and many, many nieces, nephews.
