We are sad to announce that on September 28, 2022, at the age of 97, Gayle J. Doornbos in Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Robert Scott and Lillian Scott of Edgewater Avenue; her sister Roberta Jean Scott; her husband Dr. Roy Doornbos, Jr. of Michigan; her sibling's children, Janet L. Murley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert Scott Murley (Mary P. Murley) of Lake Forest and Thomas Scott Murley (Elizabeth Murley) of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; her great-nieces, Mary M. Doyle of Lake Forest and Megan M. Olson of Lake Bluff, Illinois; and her great-nephew Robert Scott Murley, Jr. of Lake Bluff, Illinois. She was also cherished by 6 great-grandnieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Gayle's family requests that donations in her name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
