He is survived by: his great grandchild Robert Hawkins; his wife Patricia Redmond (Burton); his sister Eloise Evans; and his children, LaVonda Bailey of Wilmington, CA, Kimberly Bates, Arlecia White, Janelle Jones, Chenita "Nikki" Redmond of Raleigh, NC, Byron Redmond of Dallas, TX and Johnny Redmond. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
