We bid farewell to Joey S. Sanders Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 16, 2025 at the age of 82. Joey touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joey Sr. Sanders and Edith Sanders (Bennett); his siblings, Dave, Bruce, Don and Betty; and his grandson Jacob Sanders.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Sarita Westerfield (Jerry), Darryl Sanders (Loni) and Joey Sanders, III (Phoebe); his grandchildren, Ashley Helsel (Matt), Michael Westerfield (Jackie), Derek Westerfield (Desia), Danielle Blake (Kyler), Josh Sanders (Jessica), Britnee Sanders, Des Swenson (Dan) and Dustin Sanders; and his siblings, Andy, Roger, Jerry, Delorse, Dolly and Mary Lou. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Covington Memorial Funeral Home (8408 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at the Covington Memorial Gardens (8408 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804).
