She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernal Gregory and Daisy Gregory (Wilson); her husband Daniel C. Kechel; her son Mark Kechel; and her brother Ernest Gregory.
She is survived by: her sons, David P. Kechel (Natilee) and Stephen G. Kechulius (Carol); her daughter-in-law Diane Kechel; her brothers, Paul and Dean Gregory (Gloria); her grandchildren, Brian Kechel (Lindsay) and Jenifer Kechulius (Kyle Bender); and her great grandchildren, Logan and William Kechel.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home (310 N 2nd Ave E, Newton, IA 50208). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Our Silent City Cemetery (1926 IA-224, Kellogg, IA 50135).
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Leona's honor.
