He was predeceased by: his parent Tom Thomas. He is survived by: his parent Jessie Thomas (Hensley); his wife Elaine Thomas (Meyer) of Fort Wayne; and his daughter Kim Thomas of Fort Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart Transplant Patient Assistance Fund, to which he was a passionate supporter and fundraiser for many years.
