He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Lombardo and Rose Lombardo; and his brother Frank Lombardo. He is survived by: his wife Jean Lombardo; his daughters, Amanda Thiel (Mick) and Stacie Childers; his grandchildren, Camdyn Childers of Fort Wayne, Mallory Thiel of Fort Wayne and Makenna Thiel of Fort Wayne; and his siblings, Madeline Lombardo of Fort Wayne and Andrew Lombardo Jr. of Fort Wayne.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Visiting Nurse or Bishop Luers Catholic High School.
