He is survived by: his parents, Mike Burns of Fort Wayne and Marjorie Burns of Fort Wayne; and his siblings, Dan Burns (Amy) of Fort Wayne, Pauline Workman of Fort Wayne, Mary Harrison (Bill) of Fort Wayne, Terry Burns (Gwen) of Fort Wayne, Shawn Burns of Fort Wayne, Matthew Burns (Megan) of Fort Wayne, Michael Burns (Teresa) of Fort Bliss and Tim Burns (Jamie) of Oakdale.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to the Wounded Warrior Project.
