With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Virginia Marcile Churchward of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born in Laotto, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 1, 2024 at the age of 99. She was predeceased by: her husband William Churchward; her parents, Leavitt Akey and Edith Akey; her siblings, Walter (Annette), Georgia, Ilo, Wilbur (Gladys), Marion and Glenn; and her siblings-in-law, Wilbur (Mildred), James (Dorothy), Page (Iva), Eugene (Fern), Edna (Ed), Cecelia, Rita (Jon) and Susan (Matthew).

She is survived by: her children, Crystal Otis (Churchward) of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Robert Churchward (Estela) of Ashburn, Virginia; her grandchildren, Steve Churchward (Jennifer) of Fort Wayne, Michele Maile (Otis) of Fort Wayne, Jeremy Otis of Fort Wayne, Lindsay Churchward-Rao (Sid) of Seattle, Leanne Churchward (Tom Edwards) of Ashburn and Ryan Churchward (Ashleigh) of Westbury; her great grandchildren, Zach (Amy) of Waukesha, Bree Mills (Brandon) of LaOtto, Steffane Woods (Corey) of Fort Wayne, Ashlynn Harpel of Fort Wayne, Andrew Churchward of Fort Wayne, William Churchward of Fort Wayne, Reese Otis of Edwardsville, Beau Edwards, Ford Edwards of Ashburn and Will Franklin Churchward of Westbury; her great great grandchildren, Kaylee of Waukesha, Chase of Waukesha, Lukas Maile of Waukesha, James of Fort Wayne, Shelby of Fort Wayne, Douglas Woods of Fort Wayne, Lacey and Haley Mills of LaOtto, Indiana; her brother Kenneth Akey (Betty) of South Carolina; and her siblings-in-law, Lorraine Hoss and Paul Churchward of Indiana.
