He was predeceased by: his parents, Shelby Smallwood and Cora Lee Smallwood (Smith); his brother Rufus Smallwood; and his nephews, Thomas Carpenter, Mike Smallwood and Troy Jarrett.
He is survived by: his wife Vickie Reece; his daughters, Angie Steele (Larry Lewis) of Connersville and Julie Black (Joe) of Dublin; his siblings, James Smallwood (Esther) of Oldenburg, Flossie Jarrett of Oldenburg, Janet Littleton and Kathy Roberts (Daniel) of Oldenburg; his grandchildren, Jordy Steele (Deidra Taylor), Derek Murphy, Kelly Jones and Shelby Brook Steele; his great grandchildren, Kayla Sears, Larra Sears, Landon Gabbard, Isabella Peters, Brody Murphy, Jordynn Steele, Loki Steele and Dash Allen; and his nephew Shelby Mounce (Pauline). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
