She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank W. Houghland and Beatrice Naomi Houghland (Licklyter); her husband Joseph D. Newsom Sr.; her children, Michael Andrew Newsom (Beaver) and Sherry Lee Mendoza; and her sister Doris Spear.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph D. Newsom (Pamela) of Louisville, KY and Cathy Gatlin (Don) of Greenwood, IN; and her sister Marilyn Wright (Richard) of Martinsville, IN.. She is also survived by four grandchildren, five great- grandchildren.
