She was predeceased by: her husbands, Roy Mize and Charles Smith; and her daughter Patricia Leeper. She is survived by: her children, Janice Sue Spurr of Franklin, Sandy Spurgeon (Greg) of Brownsburg, Pete Smith of Greenwood and James Mize of Franklin. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mary Barnd's memory to Riley Children's Hospital or to The American Cancer Society.
