He is survived by: his sons, Dr. David Clinger of Eugene, Oregon, Ken Clinger of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Tom Clinger (Beth Wehrenberg) of Grand Rapids, Michigan.; his grandchildren, Abram Clinger of Durango, Colorado, Rachel Clinger of Santa Fe, Anna Clinger of Berkeley, California, Jane Clinger of Jersey City and Grace Clinger of Ann Arbor, Michigan.; and his siblings, Edwin Clinger of Sun City, Arizona, Albert Clinger of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Frank Clinger, Joyce Loepprich of Irvine, California, Ann Loeffler of Rancho Cordova, California and Ferne Allan of Albuquerque.
