He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Purtiman and Ida May Hensley (Payton); his sister Mary Hooper; his wife Catherine; his daughter Karen Sue Funkhouser; his son-in-law Tony Funkhouser; and his grandchildren, Daniel Paul Wray and Mackenzie Lynn Funkhouser.
He is survived by: his brothers, Wayne Hensley and Donald Hensley; his daughters, Patricia Wray (Ken), Melissa Ransdell (Jeff) and Kristine Johnson (Jeff); his grandchildren, Eric Funkhouser (Brooke), Lori Roberts (Justin), Amanda Wray, Melissa Wray, Austin Ransdell, Lauren Ransdell, Ethan Branon, Aiden Branon and Thomas Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Caleb Funkhouser, Dylan Funkhouser and Finn Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Post 205, at 1200 Park Ave., Franklin, IN, 46131.
