With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin J. Bontrager Jr. of Goshen, Indiana, who passed away on June 27, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin J. Bontrager and Mary Ann Baer (Stump); his brother Roger Bontrager; and his stepson Michael Grove. He is survived by: his daughter Deana M. Taylor (Craig); his stepdaughter Lisa R. Narayan (Sharath); his grandchildren, Ryan Taylor, Dylan Taylor, Joseph Narayan, Maya Narayan and Joshua Narayan; his great grandchildren, Adalyn Taylor and Sawyer Taylor; his siblings, Elna Hussey (Michael), Mary Ann Ellsworth (Mark), Mahlon Bontrager (Sandra), Ronald Bontrager (Cindy), Carl "Richard" Bontrager (Laura) and Arthur Baer, Jr. (Ronda); and his sister-in-law Cheri Bontrager.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home (1911 S Main St, Goshen, IN 46526). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Riley Children's Hospital.
