He was predeceased by : his parents, Clifford Pointer and Mary Juanita Pointer (Whitehouse); and his brothers, Bill, Larry, Ronnie, Wayne, Tony and Terry Pointer.

He is survived by : his wife Winnie Pointer of Grandview; his sons, Gary Motteler (Laura) of Delta, PA, Daniel Motteler of Evansville, IN and Steven Pointer of Grandview, IN; and his siblings, Mike Pointer (Jeannie) of Owensboro, KY, Jeff Pointer, Marsha Holland (Anthony) of Owensboro, KY and Karen Hein (Frank) of Owensboro, KY.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
