As Howard departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Howard may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear and the legacy Howard leaves behind.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Eathel Mae Edwards (Poe) and Howard Douglas Hefley Sr.; his wife Loretta Hefley; his son Gary Lohkamp (Pam); his grandson Mark; and his great grandchild Mark II.

He is survived by : his brothers, Allen Snively (Judy) and Gary Mueller (Louise). He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Indiana Funeral Care (2433 E Main St, Greenwood, IN 46143). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens (1977 IN-135, Greenwood, IN 46143).
