She was predeceased by: her husband Henry; her parents, Otis Fletcher (Mabel Fletcher) and Mabel Fletcher; her siblings, Jesse S. Fletcher and Bess; her brother-in-law Donald Ferguson; her niece Cheryl Lynn Fletcher; her grandson Connor E. Shells; and her great-nephew Edward Simmons III.

She is survived by: her friends, Cora, Jane, Rhoda and Judy; her children, Kimberly Shells (Ennis) and Jeffrey Washington (Dionne); her granddaughter Sydney Renee (Aisha); her great grandchildren, Adelyn Jones and Noelle Shells; her brother-in-law Earl Washington; her nieces, Maxine Simmons (Edward), Natalie Mack (Michael) and Owana Miller (Keith); her great-nieces, Jessica, Jennica Simmons, Candace Stanley (Eric), Keiona Conway (Sean), Nia Mack, Keaira Miller, Tiffany Chin (Del) and Monica Faulkner (Chris); and her nephew Randy Washington (Suane, family: Jason Washington).
