It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen K. Friar (Hartford City, Indiana), who passed away on May 28, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John D. Kunkel and Gladys Kunkel (Neuenschwander); her husband Jeffery L. Friar; and her siblings, Larry Kunkel and Jill Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Brady Smekens (Kristina) of Warren, IN and Angie Harris (Scott) of Poneto, IN; her stepchildren, Jay Friar (Judy) of Pennville, IN, Teresa Dollar of Montpelier, IN and Jennie Hunter (Clayton) of Tampa, FL; and her brother Randy Kunkel (Sharon) of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Walker & Glancy Funeral Home (109 W Windsor St, Montpelier, IN 47359). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
