She was predeceased by: her parents, Ezra Funk and Bessie Funk (Strine); her husband Richard P. Hammel; her children, Crystal Ann, Lynette Ann Hammel, Rodney and Terry Lee Hammel; and her siblings, Ruth Ensminger, Erma Funk, Elizabeth Ensminger, Violet Chiapetta, Emma Jean Lutus, Josephine Lofland, Daniel, Jacob and Ben Funk.
She is survived by: her daughter Brenda Rittenhouse of Huntington; her daughter-in-law Sandy Hammel of Fort Wayne; her grandchildren, Joshua Rittenhouse (Erica Mabery), Christa Spurgeon (Jayson), Audra Rittenhouse, Timothy Hammel and Pam Curdes; her great grandchildren, Kalib Mabery, Hunter Mabery, Andrew Spurgeon, Archer Deverell, Selah Spurgeon, Levi Spurgeon, Tristan DeFord, Lindsey Adams and Abigail Curdes; and her sister Bessie June Risk of Traverse City, MI..
