He was predeceased by: his parents, Hershel Hethcote and Anna Hethcote (Butler); his children, Jeff Hethcote, Kelli Koontz and Tina Richardson; and his siblings, Dee Hethcote, Merrill Hethcote, Junior Hethcote, Melba Milar and Arleas Jean Drabenstot.
He is survived by: his children, Brad Hethcote (Jennifer) of Andrews, Kristi Young (Randy) of North Manchester, Monica Spurlock (Eric) of Andrews and Brenda Wood (Dave) of Fort Wayne; his siblings, Max Hethcote (Luella) of Mt. Etna and Janice Kellam (John) of Mt. Etna; and his sister-in-law Donna Hethcote of Goshen.
