He was predeceased by: his parents, Russel Gibson and Othilda Gibson (Johnston); his son Michael Gibson; and his sisters, Janine Zahm and Debra Hunnicutt.

He is survived by: his wife Lucy L. Kiefer; his son Nickolas Gibson; and his sister Mary Ann Williams (Winfred) of Huntington, IN..

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Heart Association in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
