With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mercedes Cochran VanNoy (Indianapolis, Indiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 6, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marie Cochran and Bernard Cochran (Martha); her siblings, Cecilia Fleischmann, Patricia Cecil (Don), John Cochran, Phyllis Cochran and Buddy Cochran; and her nephews, Patrick Flaherty and Michael Cecil.
She is survived by: her sisters, Claire Flaherty (John) and Genevieve Freeman (Gary); her children, Ron DeMent (Jane), J. Lynne (Lisa Snyder), DeMent and Genevieve Etkin (Heidi Welser); and her grandchildren, Tyler and Esme Etkin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution to a hospice facility of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
