He was predeceased by: his mother Joanne Bleck Gabbard; his stepfather Taylor Gabbard; and his brother Ted Brown. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Springer Brown; his children, Mike (Elizabeth) and Jenny Welker (Richard); and his grandchildren, Cam, Wes Brown and Taylor Welker.
Rick was always interested in helping the youth of our community, serving as a Big Brother, a member of the Indianapolis Police Athletic League (PAL), the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the board of the Lutheran Child and Family Services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rick's memory may be made to the Foundation for Lutheran Child and Family Services -1525 N. Ritter Avenue, Indianapolis IN 46219, or a charity of your choice.
