He was predeceased by : his parents, James Rogers Sr. and Opha Richardson (Watson). He is survived by : his sons, John Rogers (Amanda) and James Lee Rogers III (BJ Durham); his brother Walter Richardson; his grandchildren, John Jr. and Alexis Guardado; and his niece Elizabeth Richardson.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Legacy Funeral Center - Scott Chapel (921 Main St, Jeffersonville, IN 47130). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
