He was predeceased by: his father Cecil "Buck" Owen; his sister Sheila Adams; and his brother-in-law Skip Rogers. He is survived by: his mother Bertha Owen (Wheeler); his significant other Cindy Owen; his sons, Matt Owen (Kelly) and Nicholas Owen; his grandchildren, Luke and Ali; and his siblings, Cheryl Rogers and Lyle Owen (Mary). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of a donation to the Jeffersonville Animal Shelter.
