She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesus Valadez and Margarita Valadez (Cavazos); her husband William F. Hopkins; and her siblings, Gavina Ford, Lisa Ferren, Helen Taylor, Jane Keller, Jesse Valadez and Rudy Valadez.

She is survived by: her children, Steven S. Sanders of Lafayette, Susan Bartrum (Sanders) of Kokomo, Cinthia Downs (Sanders) of Ft. Meyers, Tomas A. Hopkins (Brenda) of Kokomo and Tiffin Depres (Hutto) of San Antonio, Texas; and her siblings, Deloris Mickelson (Lolly), Genevieve Root, Josie DeSchamps, Raymond Valadez and Gilbert Valadez. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
