She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph G. Preston and Violet Preston (Spitler); and her siblings, Charles H. Preston (Zona), Betty J. Hines (Frank) and Mary M. Preston.

She is survived by: her son Ron Mitchell (Lisa) of Muncie; her sibling's children, Bev Harper (Del) of West Lafayette, Harriett Deboy of Lafayette, Shelley, Cindy Preston of Northglenn, CO and Alton Hines (Anita) of Lafayette; her great-niece Tracy Davis of Lafayette; her great-nephew Brad Harper (Amy) of West Lafayette; and also, Melissa and Nolan.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Almost Home Humane Society of Lafayette.
