It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donald J. Gertzen of Lafayette, Indiana, who passed away on August 26, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Gertzen and Mary Katherine Gertzen (Burgett); and his sisters, Mary Hilt and Beverly Ellison. He is survived by: his children, Johnny Gertzen (Penny) of Lafayette and Crystal Christopher (Dan) of Lafayette; and his siblings, Bob Gertzen (Sharon) of West Lafayette, Jack Gertzen (Sue) of Oregon, Betty Chalmers of Lafayette and Helen Ferro of Lafayette. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to Natalie's Second Chance Animal Shelter.
