He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Patrick and Gladys Patrick (Dunk); and his siblings, Kenneth, Roger, Elmer, Ralph and Norma.

He is survived by: his former spouse Ovetta Black; his sons, Elmer (Judy) of Pahrump, Richard of Fort Myers, Robert (Jenny) of Lafayette and Charles (Judi) of Pensacola, Florida.; his grandsons, Steven (Sherri), Jess (Caroline) of Greenwood and Ben of Bloomington, Indiana.; and his siblings, Homer, James, Roy, Evan, Sharon Davis of Kentucky and Mary Pemberton of Fairmont, Indiana.. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.
