He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles R. Weida Jr. and Luella "Mildred" Weida (Dixon); his siblings, Dixon Weida, Charles Weida, Zona West and Janet Schwartz; and his daughter-in-law Debbie Weida (Fetterling).

He is survived by: his wife Joann Elizabeth Cavanaugh; his sons, Jay Weida (Deb) and Tom Weida (Laura); his grandchildren, Stacy Weida (Greg), Randy Weida (Ashley), Jennifer McClellan (Chris), Michael Weida (Heather), Andy Lavignette (Amanda), Marc Lavignette (Sara), Jeremiah Swinford (Cristlyn) and Tyler Swinford (Kelby); and his great grandchildren, Matias Allen, Linkin McClellan, Sylar McClellan, Keyan McClellan, Riley Weida, Reagan Weida, Nolan Lavignette, Alex Lavignette, Rowan Lavignette, Abbie Lavignette, Eva Lavignette, Johannah Swinford, Greyson Swinford, Cohen Swinford, Aiden Swinford and Miles Swinford.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Focus After School Program at Murdock Elementary School.
