He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick William Schmitz, Sr. and Elsie Louise Schmitz; and his siblings, Helen Schmitz and Richard Schmitz. He is survived by: his wife Gertrude May (Nee Harrington); and his daughters, Christine M. Ladisch, Susan Owen and Carol J. McDavid. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
