He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlon Rushing and Quay Rushing (Timbes); his wife Donna Rushing; his brother Warner Rushing; and his daughter Nicole Rushing Marshall.
He is survived by: his sisters, Barbara Sweeney of Iuka, Mississippi. and Brenda Robbins-Rushing of Iuka, Mississippi.; his children, Robin Rushing and Adam Rushing; his son-in-law John Marshall; his grandchildren, Britney Rushing (Cory), Amanda Marshall, Jonathan Marshall (Michelle), Wyatt Marshall and Cheyenne Marshall; and his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Vera, Elijah, Jonathan Jr., Stella, Kaleb, Kade and Mazie.
Gene still enjoyed working until one year ago when he contracted Covid.
