It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Glessie Margaret Ely of Lafayette, Indiana, born in Jonesville, Virginia, who passed away on June 16, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Alsup and Ethel Alsup (Fortner); her spouse Byrd Ely; and her brother John Alsup. She is survived by: her children, Shirley Church (Roy) of Lafayette and Roger Ely (Brenda) of Lafayette. She is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
