He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Dotson and DelMae Dotson (Cantrell); his spouse Luita L. Brown; his brother Marvin Dotson; and his son David Edward Dotson.

He is survived by: his children, Steve Dotson of Lafayette and Linda Crum (Jerry) of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Andrew Crum (Liz) of Texas and Michelle Hoard (Aaron) of Westfield, IN; and his great grandchildren, Liza, Jack, Sadie, Cooper and Grace.

Memorial donations may be made to Lafayette Catholic Schools in loving memory of Gordon.
