He is survived by: his son Mark Schmieder (Gaynelle) of Ebensburg, PA; his grandchildren, Donald Lautenbacher (Elaine) of Johnstown, PA and Amber Lautenbacher of Johnstown, PA; his great grandchildren, Kara, Kolt Lautenbacher, Sorina Leary (Michael) and Aiden Cooper; and his great great grandchildren, Gianna and Vanessa Leary.
