He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Pontius and Pearl Quaintance Pontius; and his stepson Ronald E. White. He is survived by: his pet Jerry; his former wife Joanne Pontius; his stepdaughter Kristie Dowell (Dan); his daughter-in-law Susan White; his grandchildren, Averie Tigges, MD (Tyler) and Matthew White; and his great grandchild Margot Tigges.
