Gear (Lafayette, Indiana), born in Stewardson, Illinois, who passed away on October 23, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Gear and Ruth E. Habben Gear; his son Tony Politz; his siblings, Velma Dill (Larry), Bill Gear (Shirley), Jean Martin (Marvin) and Jim Gear; his parents-in-law, John Davis, Gleason and Wilma Morehouse; his brother-in-law Bill Freeman; and his nephews, Steve Gear and Mike Dill.
He is survived by: his former wife Carol Morehouse Gear; his wife Mary Davis Gear; his grandchildren, Katie, Patrick Freeland, Meredith Pettet (Zach), Tori Hamilton, Lydia and Eli Politz; his great grandchildren, Carsyn and Della Pettet; his mother-in-law Pearl Davis; and his sisters-in-law, Bette Gear (Jim), Ginny Freeman (Bill) and Brenda Fisher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A small, private memorial service and burial will be held on October 28, to be followed by a celebration of life for all as soon as COVID-19 guidelines allow, hopefully in spring 2021.
