She was predeceased by: her parents, William C. Schrader and Rosalie Schrader (Lawler); and her husband Henry J. Kaniewski. She is survived by: her sons, Ricky E. Thomas (Muriel) of Lafayette and Henry J.. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Awareness.
