It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Peggy Jean Hurt of Lafayette, Indiana, born in Sullivan, Indiana, who passed away on May 27, 2021, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hosea D. Hummell and Margaret Houston Hummell; her husband Phillip Wayne Hurt; and her sisters-in-law, Janet Hockema and Sandy Ritchie.

She is survived by: her children, Jason Hurt of Lafayette and Jessica Hurt of Greenwood; her sister Corinne Hummell Dowell (Ken) of Lathrup Village, Michigan; her brother-in-law Chuck Hockema of Lafayette; and her pet Phoebe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Natalie's Second Chance No Kill Shelter in memory of Peggy.
