He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Shaw; and his children, Michael Shaw and Danielle Shaw. He is survived by: his brothers, Jerry (Vicki), Jim (Becky) and John Shaw (Elena); his children, Adam (Ashley), Isaac Shaw (Jill) and Angie Riggs (Alan); his grandchildren, Danielle Riggs, Joshua Riggs, Cecilia Shaw and Augustus Richard Shaw; and his great grandchild Mason Riggs.
