He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Montgomery and Myrtle Montgomery (Ellis). He is survived by: his wife Janice Harden; his children, Robert Elba Montgomery, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX, David Montgomery (Renae) of Lafayette and Christina Whiteaker (Jim Catron) of Lafayette; his half-siblings, Paul Montgomery (Laurie) of Indianapolis and Ginger Chriss (Craig) of Elwood; and his grandchildren, Robert "Tripp" Elba Montgomery III, Benjamin and Audrianna Whiteaker. He is also survived by his wife of 52 years, as well as a devoted father and grandfather.
