He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob E. Smith and Martha Smith (Roan); his brother Richard Smith; and his sibling's child Dale Smith. He is survived by: his wife Carol Natelborg; his children, Brent Smith of Lafayette, Linda Smith Pope (Jeff) of Houston, TX and Kevin Smith of Grand Rapids, MI; his brother Carl A. Smith of Lafayette; his brother-in-law John Natelborg (Marlene) of Grand Rapids, MI.; and his grandchildren, Derek and Finley Pope.
