He was predeceased by: his parents, Estel Lee and Doris Whitus (Shelton); his grandson Christopher Whitus; his siblings, Carol Becker, Marilyn Doss and William Whitus; and his sister-in-law Eyvonne "Susie" Whitus.

He is survived by: his daughter Mary Lou Ennis (Charles) of Lafayette; his siblings, Robert Whitus (Heidi), Dennis Whitus (Maxine), Michael Whitus, Ray Whitus and Lillian Reifel (Ron); his grandchildren, Sandy and John; and his great grandchildren, Caden, Ashlynn, Mirah, Jasmin and Logan.
