He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald M. Robinett and Thelma Robinett (Dykins); his former wife Opal Blackwood Robinett; and his sisters, Beth Pickard, Mona "Janie" Smith and Eloise Mason.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Paslay; his daughters, Justine Sample (Scott) of Indianapolis and Molly Simmons of Lafayette; his stepchildren, Cathy Adolph (John) of Boise, ID and Chuck Hunter (Hilary) of Indianapolis; and his grandchildren, Sophia, Lola Sample, Karen and Stephen Simmons. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends.
