He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Childers and Bessie May Childers (Robinson); his wife Frances; his daughter Linda Flick; and his daughter-in-law Margaret Childers.
He is survived by: his children, David Childers (Linda) and Darlene Hibbard (Wayne). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
