It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Hackensmith of Laurel, Indiana, born in Rushville, Indiana, who passed away on December 23, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Silas Jaggers and Mamie Gabbard Jaggers; her husband Charles Edward Hackensmith; her siblings, Geneva Maple and Robert Jaggers; her niece Brenda Hokey; and her granddaughter Jerrika Hackensmith.
She is survived by : her children, Belinda Santillanes (Avery), April Cheek and Charles Hackensmith (Lisa); her grandchildren, Bill Johnson, Mike Johnson (Angel), Brian Santillanes (Paije), Sheena Whipple (Tim), Devyn Hackensmith and Carter Hackensmith; and her nephew Mike Hokey (Mindy). She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
