With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of LuAnn Sommer Cowan Robertson of Lebanon, Indiana, born in Dayton, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 9, 2025. As we bid LuAnn Sommer Cowan farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For LuAnn Sommer Cowan is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her father Max Cowan; her sister Cheryl Ann Cowan; and her parent Arloine Cowan. She is survived by: her sons, Chase and Dane Robertson; her significant other Gary Barrickman; and her brother John Cowan (Brian Ojala). She is also survived by friends, associates, and neighbors.
The Cowan family established the Lebanon Education Foundation Cheryl Ann Cowan Scholarship Fund in 1996 and continued to sponsor the scholarship throughout LuAnn's life. Donations may be made to this scholarship fund, the Central Christian Church in Lebanon, Indiana, the Boone County Cancer Society, or any charity of choice.
