It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delmar E. Mathies of Loogootee, Indiana, who passed away on September 29, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mathies and Barbara Mathies (Prechtel); his wife Margaret Mathies; and his siblings, Ardella Norris, Genevieve Riney, Othmar Mathias, Robert Mathies, Victor Mathias, Ernest Mathias, Donald Mathias and Doris Burger.
He is survived by: his children, David Mathies of Indianapolis, Kevin Mathies of Loogootee, Kathy Miller (Mike) of Cannelton, Diane Nelson (Bill) of Indianapolis, George Mathies (Terri) of Loogootee and Brian Mathies (Sherri) of Loogootee; his grandchildren, Lucas Mathies, Matthew, Megan Mathies, Elisa, Michael Miller, Anna, Alison, Kelli Mariutto, Jen Riva (Rudy), Joe Nelson (Mo), Samm Rauh (Tom), Jacob Mathers, Eli Mathers (Natalie), Lucas Jones, Gordon Jones and Ryan Jones; and his great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nikki Riva, Eleanor, Madelyn Mathers and Margaret Rauh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
