He was predeceased by: his father Robert Merten Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Kim; his sons, Austin Merten (Megan), Colton Merten and Brody Merten; his mother Trish Brote; his parents-in-law, Yvonne Fuller and Chuck Fuller; his sister Heather Hodges (Justin); and his nephews, Lawton and Luke.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Hwy 311, Sellersburg, IN 47172). A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Rod's memory to the American Heart Association or simply by sharing a laugh in remembrance of a life lived with humor and heart.
